Publishing

After receiving a degree in Journalism and Master’s in European Studies, I soon joined Penguin Random House where I scaled the ladder from Editorial Assistant to Literary Director, where I oversaw 300 titles per year, four editors, and eight imprints. Seeking new horizons, I moved abroad where I met the team from Publishizer and accepted the role as Head of Publishing. Their tech savvy and my commercial literary background were the perfect combination to help emerging authors launch crowdfunding campaigns, prove their readership, and finally connect them with key players in the industry. I had the fortune to guide this startup through many of the twists and turns the publishing landscape is experiencing all over the world.

Literary Translation

I am also a Certified Interpreter and Translator. As an interpreter, I have had the honor to work with bestselling authors including André Aciman (Call Me by Your Name), James Ellroy (L.A. Confidential), George RR Martin (A Game of Thrones), and Robin Hobb (The Farseer Trilogy). Among my translations, you may find Eat to Beat Disease by William W. Li (Grand Central Publishing, 2019), Pan’s Labyrith by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke (Katherine Tegen Books, 2019), Rage Becomes Her by Soraya Chemaly (Atria Books, 2018), The King of Elfland’s Daughter by Lord Dunsany, and The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg (Random House, 2012).

Networking

I have a robust international network and vast negotiation abilities. Also, I have a strong background in creating book concepts for projects as needed, both under an acquisition model through agents and subagents as well as identifying and pursuing potential local authors all with an eye to maximize the sales potential and, in most cases, reach a global market.

Book Editor

I have participated in all stages of the editorial process and my passion is to collaborate with authors to bring well-assembled, well-written books to light, whose purpose and target audience are well defined from the beginning. The relationship between author and editor is absolutely symbiotic and must be based on respect, communication and trust. An editor is not only a well-read publishing professional; an editor is familiar with the market and understands what readers want.

Given I was in charge of several imprints at Penguin, I am savvy and nimble with almost any genre. However, I am selective, only taking on work for which I have a passion believing the power of enthusiasm can never be underestimated when it comes to bringing a great book out to the world.

Consultancy

I am also available for consultancy. If you’re:

  • A first time author looking forward to publish your book in the best possible way;
  • A literary agent or a publisher looking forward to expanding your market; or
  • A revolutionary company dealing with content and ideas;

I’m delighted to discuss a collaboration with you!
